 In life we can often become overwhelmed by expectation and deciding who we are supposed to be. Most often we need to be reminded as to what we love, what we are most passionate about and to give ourselves permission to follow our own path. In this photo series our young CDC dancers are exploring the courage it takes to begin the first steps toward following their own dreams, even if they can't yet see the path ahead. Take in the beauty of the Almaden hills, the passion of these young women, and the strength we must all find to follow our own path... Capitol Dance Company has decided to inspire our friends and families by starting an artistic project involving some of our most inspirational dancers. This exciting photographic movement will follow them as they explore everyday destinations. The first series of images is about exploring home. We will be traveling through our very own town of San Jose to discover its simple beauty. Everyday holds the potential for new inspirations, but sometimes we fall into mundane routines and we take our surroundings for granted. We want you to rediscover what is that makes our city unique. In the beginning of 2012, I started a new chapter in my life which consisted of traveling abroad in Europe alone. Although it seems like a daunting task, I hit the ground running and didn’t look back; I traveled to 23 countries in under 9 months. During that time, I experienced some fantastic sounds, smells, tastes and most certainly sights which included some amazing performances. There were two dance memories that immediately stand out, Spain and Turkey.
