SPARTA: Transcendental meets cult in this dance film, depicting a group of uncanny cult members casting out one of their newborns.
The CDC Company shot this dance film with filmmaker Nastia Gale Yavorski in November of 2024, and it has since gone out on a film festival run around the globe! SPARTA has earned accolades "Best Screendance" at Indie Short Fest in Los Angeles, California, and "People's Choice" at Cyprus Dance Film Festival in Limassol, Cyprus.
This film was directed and choreographed by Nastia Gale Yavorski, with assistance by Allison Crick, and shot by filmmaker ZuZu Kandilige, with camera assistance by Hailey Lindstrom. 2024/25 Company members all participated in various roles, implementing improvisation into the film as well.

PROJECT HOPE
Project Hope: Until we can be together again...we dance with hope.
During the first months of the shelter-in-place orders our Company dancers, Sophie Mohsin, Sydney Shigemoto, Jaden Whitney, Cheryl Yeh, and Kacey Ura, created a short dance film with CDC alumni Kylie Delaney, under the direction of Allison Fields.
This film is titled “Project Hope” to inspire our CDC community to remain hopeful and connected until we can dance together again. Our dancers choreographed and filmed themselves, and also worked collaboratively from home to create this very special and timely project.
We “hope” you enjoy our film and share it with those who love dance or those who might need a positive and “hopeful” message.
