Capitol Dance Company has been serving San Jose and the South Bay since 1978, educating students two years old to sixty years young in the art of dance. We take pride in our ability to make learning dance a fun and enjoyable experience. All dancers, either aspiring students or seasoned professionals, are treated as individuals and we will offer them the best in a dance education.

Our company was founded to give non-professional dancers a professional dance education, with the opportunity to “show off” their talents in our annual theatrical productions. Our shows are more than recitals. Every dancer has an integral part in a theatrical storyline. Some of our past shows include popular productions of Peter Pan, Cinderella, The Wizard of OZ or traditional ballets such as Sleeping Beauty Coppelia and Swan Lake. We choreograph the shows, develop the scripts, create the sets, design the props, and utilize the best lighting. All of which, is presented on a professional theatrical stage. These productions can often be a milestone in a young dancers education and a magical moment for their families and friends. Although participation in our shows is encouraged, it is never mandatory. Dancers only perform when they are ready.

When you tour our facility, you will note how proudly we post our student’s pictures and we usually have a DVD playing from one of our recent shows. We encourage you to talk to our students and parents. You will discover for yourself why Capitol Dance Company is a fun, enjoyable and educational experience in the art of dance.
